Another month has come and gone bringing us closer to the wonderful holiday season but first, let’s talk about The Best of October 2019.
As far as Octobers go this one has been a little weird which is leaving me with not much to share in today’s The Best of October 2019 post. This fall has been on the dry side and the cool weather was a little delayed. Basically, fall has been running a couple of weeks behind this year which means we’ve been running behind on our fall activities. Usually, I would have been to the farmer’s market by now to pick up my fresh apples but I haven’t. I’m not going until tomorrow.

Our trip to the mountains was delayed by a couple of weeks, too. Usually, we head up in the first couple of weeks of October to hit the peak part of the season but if you read Monday’s post then you’ll know we didn’t head up until last week and the leaves were pretty much at peak for the season. They’ve also had a dry fall up in the high country.
I am enjoying the cool weather and the leaves’ colors are slowly starting to change here in the Triangle. Delayed or not I’m always grateful when this beautiful season finally arrives.
October has been another month of focusing on work which is very unusual for this time of year. However, there are some big changes coming for me and Derek. We received some exciting news earlier this month in regards to his work. It’s something we’ve been waiting on for quite a while now and we are so thrilled that it is finally coming to fruition. We’re still in limbo for a little bit longer but this change might involve an out-of-the-area move. This is why I’ve been trying to work as much as possible lately. Needless to say, 2020 is looking to be an exciting year for us!
I did make another day trip to Southport to get my hair done but our big day trip this month was to the mountains. I told you all about our time in Banner Elk on Monday and I will share with you some of our Blowing Rock experiences with you next week. I’m including a not-so-great quality video from our drive in Banner Elk last week. It was so beautiful so I pulled out my cell phone to record some footage. You will see some beautiful colors. I just wish it came out a little better!
So that is The Best of October 2019. I’m anticipating some exciting moments in November. There are three family birthdays including mine and my parents are coming up for a visit to celebrate. There’s also the beginning of the wonderful holiday season and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
